Brilliant stuff. I wish that I had had the ability, time, planning ability and dogged consistency of stamina to do this when I was younger.

I don't particularly see Polar Preet as an Asian-background person: I just see her as a young British woman, of whom we should all feel great pride.

(At university I had a map of Antarctica on the ceiling of my room above my bed, whilst I was in halls of residence. I wanted to go to the pole, and to work with the British Antarctic Survey.)

She only did the south bit; the bold print first paragraph of the article is misleading.
