Can anyone recommend a solicitor in scotland who can take care of mortgage discharge paper on the cheap? Googling turns up a lot of people (myself included) who can't see why this requires anything other than a very straightforward standard-form letter (and seems like one could even DIY), but my solicitor has quoted £400+VAT which seems crazy. If anyone could PM me a recommendation (Glasgow area better, as I expect I'll have to sign something in person) that would be very helpful.
