Lovely shots, especially the first one.

I thought I'd try to check the you know what out, and got it on the second attempt (Christmas morning). Terrible shot mind you, but so glad I made the effort. Even managed to dodge the admission fee some how.

Might have to wade through a flood of puns.

In reply to Mark Collins:

Excellent.!!! Good chance it will hang about, then get confused when it needs to find a mate, so i might wait a while and take a gander.  I've heard that when the river is in spate, it favours the canal.

That farmer must be loaded by now - must be making close to a grand a day !!!!

Nice - I saw one for myself just last week whilst on a southern sojourn.

I am led to believe that there are one or two residing close to me now that I am back home, may get round to going to see if I can find them one of these days.

I was hesitant to open this thread, It is exactly what I feared it would be. But now I'm here, Je ne Egret rien.

Didn't realise it was still hanging about - not that I've seen it but I knew where it was spotted.

I have four Egrets:

In reply to FactorXXX:

I drove past what can only be described as a clump of 7 or 8 Little Egrets in a field next to the A590 South Lakes dual carriageway in November.

In reply to Michael Hood:

There are plenty of egrets to be seen on the marshes where the Kent flows just before entering Morecambe Bay, especially at the moment when many of the fields are flooded. I have seen up to 7 simultaneously. However, I do wonder what the local herons think of the invasion.

Some of them are probably on Twitter making remarks that would be equivalent to "Wildebeest" tweets 😁

Behave you selves.

In reply to Michael Hood:

Was getting gloomy, but great white egret and barn owl from the same day at Martin Mere.

Lovely owl picture - I’d be thrilled to have  taken that.

Did you have to crane your neck to see it? Or maybe stalk it for a while?
