Question for the engineering-oriented amongst you. I'm searching eBay for a couple of bushes (as spacers for garden gate hinges) and they typically have choices of length and diameter, and also clearance size in M units. I have no idea what these are, and Google has failed to enlighten me. Maybe someone out there can do better...

Just a guess but it sounds like the metric bolt /thread size it would fit over.

Eg M16 is about 16mm.
