I thought this when I was out for a run this morning. Am I on to something or talking bollo@#s?

In general the climbing community really look after the things they are interested in. ie rocks, crags, cliffs etc. Despite the occasional person telling fibs or 'creatively brushing',  this unregulated and anarchistic community have come to a shared understanding about the need to take care of what they love.

Wouldn't it be something if the international community could learn from this when it comes to looking after the big rock we all live on.

I greatly prefer tool drying. Much more satisfying.

Maybe Greta Iceberg will chop the bolts.

One of the things that always strikes me is that climbers (generally) accept responsibility for personal choices and their consequences more than the general population. Every time I see or hear an ambulance chasing "you could be due compensation" advert, I think of this.

Also the belief that: yes, I am my brother's keeper - at least if that brother has fallen off and needs some help, even if that means giving up your own objectives for the day.

An awkward thrutch is still better than nothing.
