Those who complain we are saying that people were stupid to be influenced are wrong. The point is that people were influenced in the same way as a developed, intelligent and cultured race were influenced in the 1930s by propaganda directed at the various tiers of society.
In a way those who allege that we are saying only stupid people would be influenced by lies and propaganda are saying that the entire population of 1930s Germany was stupid and that is patently not true. why else do people run propaganda campaigns?
It's just another Brexiteer myth (myth at best if it is for their own consumption, a lie if it used in argument)
