How long have these current clowns been in charge for? It's staggering how much crap they are responsible for in such a short time.

From BBC

Secretary Robert Jenrick has accepted he approved a £1bn east London housing development unlawfully.

The timing of the decision meant Conservative Party donor Richard Desmond avoided paying around £40m.

Would that be Richard Desmond the ex-pornographer?

On one hand (no pun) its demeaning and exploitative. On the other, he's rich and a tory donor. Family values (not one of his specialist magazines), seem to go out of the window with the tories.

So you have someone who made money by encouraging self pleasure, donating it to a group who seem to please themselves.

Yeah, I'm impressed that he could be involved in two terrible news presentations in one day.

"Mr Jenrick accepted the original decision was technically unlawful" is a wonderful line: how many of us could admit to unlawful activity, have it reported as such on the BBC, and keep our jobs?

The decision regarding the project is now in the hands of an alternative minister......how utterly embarrassing to have the Secretary of State for housing to have decisions about housing made by someone else because you cant be trusted to comply with housing law.......and he denies being biased but is lawyers admit publicly that correspondence between him an the developer could easily be construed as him being biased.......

Ladies and Gentlemen, the current holder of the title of most incompetent minister. Mr Robert Jenryk.

In reply to Ian W:

He's still a minister, though; so that's a kind of success...

How long is a piece of string?

People are soon going to COMPLETELY forget DurhamGate and BarnardCastleGate and be back to Brexit etc.... I'm not going to forget.... but do you think I matter to 10 Downing Street?

ONE RULE FOR THEM, ANOTHER RULE FOR US. Don't forget

Interesting that when Tower Hamlets council applied for the communications between the SoS and the developer to be released the SoS agreed his decision should be quashed - it speaks volumes.

It sits nicely with an attorney general who defends lawbreakers as long as it’s for your family

Yes indeed. Maybe i am applying the wrong metrics here. I was taking competence as the ability to do your job; in this case lead a team within a government department. Perhaps the measure of competence as is apparent now is the ability to say / vote yes to whatever the PM / his advisers tell you to......

Once again, it is just the sheer sodding arrogance that these people think they will get away without being found out and then shrug things off when the inevitable happens. It's also the fact that this £ 40 million pound misdemeanour doesn't seem to come with any real sanction.
