I think the time has come for the EU to quote Gloria Gaynor and tell the UK to sling its hook.....I know I have lost all my tolerance for the dithering...just do something for fs

Go on now, go, walk out the door
Just turn around now
'Cause you're not welcome anymore
Weren't you the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye
Do you think I'd crumble
Did you think I'd lay down and die?

Oh no, not I, I will survive
Oh, as long as I know how to love, I know I'll stay alive
I've got all my life to live
And I've got all my love to give and I'll survive
I will survive, hey, hey

I would rather the EU went with KC and the Sunshine Band - Please Don't Go

So please don't go
Don't go
Don't go away
Please don't go
Don't go
I'm begging you to stay

Nah, youve got to stay together, even if times are good or bad, happy or sad

In fact, as Al Green said:

Oh baby

Let's, let's stay together (gether)

Lovin' you whether, whether Times are good or bad, happy or sad

Oh, oh, oh, oh, yeah

Whether times are good or bad, happy or sad

There's a certain very old UK entrant for Eurovision that would be appropriate too. Anyone know the one I'm referring to?

Edit: great thread, by the way!

Have you heard it on the news
About this fascist groove thang
Evil men with racist views
Spreading all across the land
Don't just sit there on your ass
Unlock that funky chaindance
Brothers, sisters shoot your best
We don't need this fascist groove thang
Brothers, sisters, we don't need this fascist groove thang

History will repeat itself
Crisis point we're near the hour
Counterforce will do no good
Hot you ass I feel your power
Hitler proves that funky stuff
Is not for you and me girl
Europe's an unhappy land
They've had their fascist groove thang

Brothers, sisters, we don't need this fascist groove thang

Bucks Fizz - Making Your Mind Up - one for the British electorate and MP's!

You gotta speed it up
And then you gotta slow it down
'Cause if you believe that our love can hit the top
You gotta play around
But soon you will find that there comes a time
For making your mind up

The natives are restless tonight Sir,
Cooped up on estates with no hope in sight,
They need some kind of distraction,
We can give them that.

'Cause they'd die if they only had something to die for,
They'd kill if they only had something to kill for,
They'd cheer if they only had something to cheer for,
We can give them that.

It's working like a dream Sir,
Half the nation are hooked on the bait,
Waiting for the next victorious instalment,
We can give them that.

That's the one, although a quick Google has turned up Cliff Richards' "Power to all our friends" which also could be apt, and my new favourite: "Rock bottom" from Lynsey de Paul and Mike Moran.

Everybody knows the vote was loaded

Everybody voted with their fingers crossed

Everybody knows the war aint over

Everybody thinks that their guys lost

Everybody knows the fight was fixed

The poor stay poor the rich stay rich

Thats how it goes

Every body knows

Everybody knows the govt is sinking

Everybody knows the captain tried

Everybodys got this broken feeling

Like their future or their dream just died

Everybody knows

Thats how it goes.

Everybody knows its now or never

Everybody knows its me or you

Everybody knows it'll change forever

When you cross a box or two

Everybody knows the deal is rotten

Old way of politics forgotten

Cut to ribbons and sold

Everybody knows.

Soz Leonard.

Maybe not...

"Go on now, go, walk out the door
Just turn around now
'Cause you're not welcome anymore"

Must surely apply to Farage, Johnson, Gove, Rees-Mogg and the whole sorry clown-car of opportunists and idiots.

Making your mind up, 81 Eurovision classic, and should I stay or should I go is a corker.

My choice would be hard to say I'm sorry by Chicago. Or better best forgotten by steps.

If the rest of Europe could only be persuaded to show a bit of sodding solidarity with the UK, and leave the EU along with us, then I know the perfect tune: namely, The Final Countdown, by Europe... I hear that Venus is lovely, at this time of year.

We're leaving together,
But still it's farewell
And maybe we'll come back
To earth, who can tell?
I guess there is no one to blame
We're leaving ground (leaving ground)
Will things ever be the same again?

It's the final countdown
The final countdown

Oh

We're heading for Venus (Venus)
And still we stand tall
'Cause maybe they've seen us (seen us)
And welcome us all, yeah
With so many light years to go
And things to be found (to be found)
I'm sure that we'll all miss her so

It's the final countdown
The final countdown

1

There must be some kind of way outta here
Said the joker to the thief
There's too much confusion
I can't get no relief

Outside in the cold distance
A wildcat did growl
Two riders were approaching
And the wind began to howl
