This is going to be bad, isn’t it? Thatcher was terrible, but this is going to be worse. At least with Thatcher you could be reasonably confident that ministers were not going to be straight-up lying to the public as a matter of routine.

Whereas Johnson (and even more so Cummings, of course) is making no bones about the fact that making it easier and more rewarding for the government to lie is going to be a key part of his agenda.

That is ever so slightly worrying......and slighly more worrying that I am not especially surprised....

Good to see that the Telegraph and Daily Mail journalists walked out in support of those from the more left leaning papers.

What I am surprised to see is the BBC are not reporting on it?

I bet they only succumbed to peer pressure.

Although that supposedly conniving, Boris loving, closet Brexiteer Laura Kuennsberg was one of the journalists who walked out. I'll watch the BBC news at 10pm with interest.

These motherf*ckers are in control of our legislative body with a majority of 80. It's a prime minister's wet dream. And what a prime minister!

At least we can be confident the Guardian’s comment is in no way partisan.

If you'd like to be thoroughly depressed then check out the chorus of support for the segregation on the twitter of the likes of Julia Hartley Brewer (who too her credit was firmly supportive of the journalists).

Second item after trade talks on R4 10pm news.

I'm proud that the journalists boycotted as one; it shows that the UK is still a great place in some ways.

It's the mix of views that's important - including yours.

I think you presented a view on the Guardian.

They did say see, I still get most of my news from the telly, though sadly not the BBC much any more.

That's how the BBC gets to try to play both sides. For any self respect in journalism it should have been headline news on it's most watched TV news. That it was not shows clearly that the BBC is running scared under political pressure.

To my mind you did. In that you were either being sarcastic, which is an opinion that the Guardian is partisan, or you were being straight forward, which is an opinion that it isn't.
