Wood Ears. Loads, and already picked and dried some in December (they shrink a LOT).

Anyway, I decided to take a detour to a place I had a hunch we might see a Barn Owl. Bingo! Spent 20 mins watching it quarter around. Stunning. Strong possibility it was the same Barn Owl I photographed last summer.

There’s a handful of birds that no matter  how often you see them you go WOW!  Kingfishers, Sparrowhawk, Barn Owls - smaller birds like Bullfinch, Long Tailed Tits, Goldcrest. Lots more. Ducks like Goldeneye and Mergansers. Nuthatch and Treecreepers.

Yes, not one of those birds is rare or a significant ‘tick’ but as you say wow every time!

I might knock LTT off and add Red Kite😊
