Cormorant having a dry.

In reply to Bottom Clinger:

Little egrets at the Eden Estuary. Chatted to another birder who said they’ve been seen regular for about the last five years. Also saw kingfisher, large flock black tailed godwits, large numbers red breasted merganser, 190 golden plover, dunlin and lots more. Great place

In reply to Bottom Clinger:

And 130 scaup

In reply to Bottom Clinger:

Morton Lochs. Great hide to view red squirrels. Jay and coal tit.

In reply to Bottom Clinger:

After Morton Lock decided to have a gander to Tentsmuir Point - sea eagles are now resident. Anyway, it was a bit more than a  gander, but worth it. Seals haul themselves out and you can clearly hear their song. Brilliant and eerie.

In reply to Bottom Clinger:

Four long tailed ducks gave great views.

Pittenweem harbour: male eider showing stunning colours.

Shag having a preen.

Nice pics. Particularly like the purple sandpiper....I've not seen many of these but always pleased to see them on the rocks down by the water.

Nice piccies, have you left Wigan behind then?

Little Egrets are popping up everywhere nowadays, coming back from South Lakes nearly two weeks ago, there was a "clump" of 7 or 8 of them in a field next to the A590 dual carriageway (about a mile to the east of Foulshaw).

Also Elton reservoir (in Bury) had a Great White Egret (as well as little Egrets) for about a month recently. Like a grey heron but all white.

Back in Wigan, and talking of Wigan and GW egrets, check this:
