The conservative leadership battle is focusing attention on the most right wing political  point of views at the moment. Farage seems to be taking full advantage of the limelight. Maybe we can see what he is made of. Maybe this is good before a potential quick no confidence vote and a potential GE. If there is a quick GE surely other party views should be on full throttle now and given the air time now? Why hear  Farage's viewpoints so prominently but not cover Lib Dem election of leader, for example? Not much of that on the television.

It seems likely to be because the people who are pushing Farage also have 'interests' in major news outlets and their editors.

It may also be not unconnected to the fact that Ed Davey and Jo Swinson don't exactly have great audience appeal. Ed who? Jo who?

Whenever Farage, Johnson et al open their mouths, it is akin to passing a pile-up on a motorway. Most (the media included) seem to slow down for a gorp. It's human behaviour sadly.

Ed Davey had a busy life before being an MP but still seems unable to raise his profile much more than Swinson.

It can't just be media bias, the fact is farage just keeps spouting click bait and cliches. Daveys background is in economics, him telling the press if we want better services we have to pay for them just doesn't make good news, even if it's true.

And likewise the Lib Dem's appropriation of "Bollocks to Brexit" as their campaigning motto certainly seems to have helped raise their profile.

Although not as bad as the USA, many in the UK still vote for the person and party first, knowledge of their policies is secondary.
