Loads this morning, including five youngsters. Heron in its usual place (which, sadly, is a complete litter tip - will try and do a clean up soon). Huge numbers of goldfinch and linnet - 100’s.

Sounds like the birds have been having a hell of a party.
Aye, never seen as many. Put it down to the excellent spring we had and the fact the farmer let a few hundred acres go fallow (he is in the process of selling, to a dairy farmer so no idea how this will be effect wildlife).
