Data deanonymisation

There was a long discussion a while ago spurred by commercial availability of NHS data to third parties, regarding how one could deanonymise said data. Certain posters seemed skeptical as to what is available on the dark web and what people can do with it.

That is scary. I never doubted it was possible, but I didn't realise how easy it was for just anyone to do it.

Going off at a tangent, that Pillar lot are a right bunch. Who'd have thought Catholic investigative journalism would be a thing? One of their articles bemoans the fact that each new generation has fewer people that attend church, but somehow doesn't connect that to the fact that the church is full of people who are obsessed with poking their noses into other people's sex lives.

Don't forget how they deliberately don't look into a large number of priests poking other parts into their congregation's children.
