Going to That Down Southamd have a few hours to kill round Maidstone. Anyone ideas on where to point my bins for a few hours ?
I don't know the area in detail, but I know that there's plenty of wildlife in the marshes, estuaries, creeks and shore all round there. I'd guess the obvious place would be the issue of sheppey.
Agree the Isle of Sheppey is probably your best option. It is about 20 -25 miles from Maidstone.

If you can travel to RSPB Cliffe Pools, that would be good. And, generally, the Hoo Peninsula and Isle of Grain.
