Evening green fingered UKCers.

Ive just lifted a bumper crop of garlic from my home raised beds. Big, fat a juicy.

I now have a void which needs filling so rather than just let the local cats  fill it with smelliness, what can you recommend to sow now which will be ready to harvest before the end of October when I will be sowing the new garlic crop from this year's heads?

There's always kale.

Beetroot or turnips, and if they're a bit slow you can always pick them golf ball sized (I prefer them at that point anyway)

Spinach, radish, lettuce, peas

Maybe it's more particularly 'a Sheffield thing', but perhaps think about the industrial history surrounding where you live, and what might be in the soil when growing food? There's parts of the city where the soil has all sorts of things in it thanks to it's industrial past. The prevailing winds and where things were located in relation to where you live might be helpful.
