Unfortunately, those in power either did not share this view or chose to ignore it a few years ago.

Don't you just love Americans listing an excess of state welfare systems as one of the major problems in Europe....

How long before the Brexiteers start blaming Remain for not telling it would be so bad in the first place?

We will be in a club of precisely how many economies of our scale that are not part of a regional trade bloc?

Experts what do they know? Just because he went to university and owns a suit doesn't make his opinions more valid than mine.

Anyway I read in the Daily Express that we'll be fine. And this is the paper that correctly predicted a cold winter in 2010. They also said during the SARS crisis that all the experts were wrong and that a Chinese virus would never infect loads of people and Britain. They were right on that and I'm sure they're right on Brexit.

Anyway any collapse in Britain's economy next year can be entirely blamed on covid and nothing to do with Brexit even if our economy does shrink faster than everyone else.

Its pure communism to get 'the people' to pay for a service that may not be used by all. It's a familiar refrain from some of our American friends.

But, if you start to tell them that the US Marine's are communist organization, paid for by 'the people', they get all shouty, for some reason.

Dont bother with that just mention medicare. The USA government spends more on healthcare per head than the UK does and we manage to cover the entire population as opposed to a bunch of geriatrics whining about how universal healthcare is socialism.
