I’m one. I apologise for drinking 8 pints after a baking hot day on Pavey and then making a total fool of myself by boasting that Astra is a path.

I. Never. Apologise. For. Supping. In't. ODG.

... And I'd never trust anybody who did.

After a group of southerners repeated the very funny ‘ dwarf walkout’ several minutes after the first ‘dwarf walkout’, I o and all that, I did have to apologise for calling them knuckle dragging cents!

do they still do that compulsory circular singing  routine in there?

In reply to Clauso:

That picture of Black Jack is a classic - has been there as long as I can remember, i.e., half a century

It's not a path I'd want to use after drinkng 8 pints.

It was in the ODG that I realised that "sing, sing or show us yer ring" wasn't a great chant if you didn't want to witness the second option.

I tried to buy a pint there in 1960 when I was 16. Landlord told me to come back another year.

I apologise for an unfortunate event in there about 1986. A bloke came in wearing his harness and with a rope coiled round his shoulders and to my dismay the lasses we were trying to hit on fell for his 'look' and binned us off....alas he spent a fair while hung on those big coat hooks by his collar in a crowded Saturday rowdy night...!

Nope... But I once (bar)made it into the staff quarters after hours, and I can't see that the roof attractions were possibly more appealing.

.....nothing much more too it really....bit of a theme at the time, lake district pub roof climbing!

It started off with the Masons at Strawberry Bank on Cartmel Fell....a very easy roof to get on....the Blacksmiths in Broughton another I recall...the ODG...seemed a good idea at the time!!

No, but my mate Whiskey Dave outlived us all and sneaked in through a window at closing time to enjoy a dram in the ‘ residents bar’. This finished his evening and he was escorted to ‘his room’ that wasn’t  his and was not booked. He even had the nerve to go for breakfast the next day. ‘Kippers and tea and toast’ he informed us.

The ODG owe me an apology. When they had table service on, the lad neglected to tell us they had Loweswater Gold on. It was a lovely evening too and I’d been at work all day.

Fortunately, just caught in time when another table ordered after us.

In reply to Bottom Clinger:

I apologise for long arming a pint with no top on ....when I lowered the glass a young lad was looking through the window with a look of confusion and disappointment in his eyes...I remember thinking, shit lad, don't end up like me, get out of there.
