Squeezing a couple of nights in at Kinloch Rannoch (visiting friends in Pitlochry but getting some walking in).

Does anyone have any recommendations for good/classic walks/routes/day hikes from Kinloch Rannoch, or a good source/reference for such.  Level/ability of party: Wainwrights completed but no rope/climbing skills, basic scrambling OK.

You have Schiehallion on your doorstep. A bit tedious when the clag is down, but if you have clear skies it's well worth doing.

You're also a shortish hop to the Lawers range - an obvious one is to do Beinn Ghlas and Ben Lawers, with a descent from the col between them north and a return down Coire Odhar. https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/perthshire/ben-lawers.shtml

And the nearby Tarmachan Ridge is a fantastic day if you're ok with the occasional bit of airiness. In _my_ rush, I forgot to mention the obvious Schiehallion on the doorstep, and the fact that we'll have a car (so offering all routes to Schiehallion).

The Corbett  Beinn a' Chuallaich to the north, the Carn Mairg group of Munros to the south.

You could doubtless do Carn Mairg and co (4 Munros) from the north side, though the easier access (and logical round) is accessed from Glen Lyon, a short drive round from the Rannoch side:

On those hills a round of just Meall Garbh and Carn Gorm might be the more logical option from a northern base.

Schiehallion... is better as a round than the usual up-and-back:

By way of something different, you could drive to the far end of the road, catch the train to Corrour and go up Ben na Lap - a very easy half-day walk, although train times might be a limiting factor. I haven't been there for ten years, but when I was there last, the station had a nice bar which did a good line in bacon butties. 

Thanks for all the recommendations and ideas.  Had a geat trip which included Schiehallion on a clear almost windless day, a Corbett (Beinn a Chuallaich, 80 feet short of a Munro), almost made it to Ben Alder (but not enough time after a long-ish walk-in), and exploring a couple of other tracks with a view to going another time.  Baed at Kinloch Rannock and didn't have to leave the valley, but areas around Loch Tummel and Rannoch/Courrour stations have plenty of potential (and already done a bit round there from Bridge of Orchy).

Sounds like a good trip - and you lucked out with the weather as well!
