Ford crossing at SO 039 233 Brecon Beacons.

Any one know this ford?

Looks like snow, so I'm off to the Brecon Beacons for a walk tomorrow.  I'm Thinking of cutting up the side of Fan Y Big. From the North West.  There is a stream to cross with a ford marked.  Does any one know this ford and can advise whether it is likely to be wade able in gaiters?

I don't know that ford, but looking at the forecast would suggest that some of the run off will be frozen, so hopefully it will be passable. If not the track from SO 036 235 up to Bwlch ar y Fan should be ok and it should give you a bit of shelter from the wind.

I did the walk yesterday. Ideal winter conditions, plenty of snow, blue sky and little wind.   Approaching the ford I met the farmer who's land it is on.  He told me to carry on down and if I could not get across, then I was free to follow the river up through his fields, rather than have to double back. Nice gesture.  Any way I crossed at the ford and enjoyed the four famous peaks, before getting back to the car under a beautiful Crescent moon.
