So the winter season for the Lake District’s Fell Top Assessors has come to an end.

I just wanted to give a shout-out to the team for providing all of the weather reports, photographs, and general guidance over the last few months.

This has been my first season getting to grips with winter conditions on the hills and their daily reports have been an amazing resource, no doubt contributing to a safe and enjoyable time in the mountains for many.

Time to give Twitter a rest for the next 8 months…

Happy to second that.  It is part of the anticipation to read the daily reports as a planned trip comes near.  To see pictures of how everything is coming into condition....only to see a warm front melt everything the day before my visit!

It's a great service. In case you missed it, we recently interviewed one of their number, Zac Poulton:

Thanks Dan. I’ve been meaning to start on this podcast for a while now. I will give it a listen!

Pity that there was not that much winter to speak of!

Very true… but there is always next year, hopefully.
