The best walk in years....

I know one shouldn't post the hidden gems but this one deserves some mention.

Two weeks in a stunning cottage in Withypool is the base.

Withypool to Tarr Steps and back in 20oc English warmth today with beautiful wife and 10 year old walk-hating daughter. And pooch!

If you need to persuade a youngster to get outdoors this is a stonker. Woodland, meadows, constant river, full rivlets, streams and brooks.

Mud, babbling streams, gorgeous woods, dappled light, 9 miles of perfection with some small inclines and declines, interesting rare wildlife and not a single moan.

The last mile or  so around the steps is busy but beyond we saw no soul.  Even so, respectful folks and no litter anywhere. And Exmoor Gold!

Loads of rain has made for lots of run off and trickling waterfalls everywhere.

The only thing missing today is unicorn poo.

But dont tell anyone...

I'm going for a walk round Glastonbury tomorrow. I'll send you some.

Sounds like an idyllic day out though, and Tarr Steps is a lovely spot when it's not heaving with grockles.

Yes please, or tell me where to get it when I visit next week.

I didnt think of anything but where I was today. Perfection!
