Hi,

Heading to El chorro in Late September and then heading on to sierra Nevada, will be there early October

Any recommendations for walks or scrambles? We are experienced climbers and hikers and love a good.view!

Thanks

Have you seen the Cicereone guide to Walks and Scrambles in the Sierra Nevada. We were thinking of a trip there ourselves at the end of September but not certain just yet. It looks a great place to explore.

Have just bought it! Looks super useful was just wondering if anyone had any 'off the beaten track' routes or "must sees". We wont be there for long so want to make the most of it

We just came back from Granada and we found this website really useful for when we went hiking:

We were there last year in late May. Stayed one night in Capileira, very pretty village, you can stock up here in some supermarkets,  before heading up to refugio poqueira for Mulhacén. There are easy and harder ways to the peak, there was still plenty of snow around then. We then did some walking near Nerja. The difference in temperature between walking in the Sierra Nevada and the coastal range was huge. On Mulhacén we needed all our layers, whilst else where it was shorts and t shirts, and worry over carrying water (plenty of water sources in Sierra Nevada as we walked up a river valley Rio Nante.

Oh, and it was very quiet and fairly empty.

In reply to Rhi Rhi: Have a look around this site it has plenty useful info

This in particular can be worth knowing from July onwards

Also, this is usually fairly accurate re weather for the Sierra
