Has anyone walked this recently? Either way. I don't have access to the Cicerone guide and I'm keen to walk the above section of the Cape Wrath trail. Is there a discernible path? Any problematic sections - river crossings, geos etc?

Yes, did it last year. There's no real path but just follow the coast. There's about six deep river gorge's to cross, all the way down to sea level and back up again. Also the range is fenced off by a high fence, the keep out signs make it easy to climb over. You see the lighthouse from Sandwood bay and it looks close, then you don't see it again until you're almost there, about six hours later. It's a fantastic walk but a hard one, the views are worth all the effort.

Did it in Jan 2016. Went via Sandy's bothy. We met the MO there who told us that the easiest place to cross the Sandwood River is at its outflow from Sandwood Loch. From Sandy's I've taken a direct route north to the lighthouse.
