Good little article which refreshes how to use a map and compass on the radio where you have to use your imagination to visualise both tools working in conjunction with each other. Its not a radio article that is supposed to teach mapreading, as that is predominantly a hands on skill once you've mastered the theory of what a map and compass are and how they complement each other.

many people see maps, compasses, phones or even GPS devices as magic talisman's that will keep the owner safe and magically keep them out of trouble.
