Hello Folks,

I'm tempted by the forecast of high pressure next week and wonder what conditions are / will be like with a cold dry week in prospect

Thinking about the more open / sunny routes like CA and Bastow

Frozen turf but nice dry rock with a chilly breeze?

Or frosted seepage making every other hold a black ice death trap?

Doesn't help that Oggie Base webcams are offline so I can't guage the snow line (if any left?)

Anyone been up there today?  I'd be interested to hear reports if so.

On carnnedau today snow in patches + frozen ground from 750m, with a majority of ground covered from 950ish. a few bits of verglas on crib lem (in all the wrong places), but route was still a summer grade 1. Cwm lloer scrambles where fully dry.

Thanks Jim,

That sounds encouraging

Webcams now back online and looks a lovely sunny day today so I think I'll aim for later this week in the hope of things drying out even more.

Ha.. I know what you mean about the Ice high up on Crib Lem.. Myself and my daughter did it Sunday.. some interesting..'avoid that bit comments'.. haha

For ground conditions high up: We went for Microspikes at the time of the photo for the descent from Llewellyn to the start of the ascent to Y Elen..
The ground and snow was solid and I didn't fancy a slip and bruised backside!
