Hello all,

Me and the wife are currently ticking off the wainwright’s and are planning a long trip up to the lakes. To maximise the amount of wainwright’s we are going to be wild camping along the way. We haven’t gone firm on the area we are going to focus on yet but We are wondering if there are any public showers around or any campsites that will allow you to use there showers as we pass through. We obviously don’t mind paying for the privilege.

cheers

I've used the showers at the NT site at Great Langdale. They suggested I put a few quid in the donations box, which I was happy to do. Presumably it's likely that their Wasdale site would be similarly obliging.

The Wasdale Head inn has showers for people camping in their small field.

I'm not aware of any public showers.

Try Keswick leisure centre. I've used the facilities there before, for a small fee

There is another NT site, Hoathwaite, just south Coniston, very basic but with a couple of showers, same as langdale, few quid in the donation box would be fine.
