Parked near the train station, so obviously one could use train to get there. Bus to Haworth £2. 14.3 miles back to Hebden on good paths. The interest of Howarth and Heden at each end, grand moorland walking then down through Hardcastle for Autumn colours.

Grand linear walk, easy to arrange and affordable public transport.

All single tickets in that area WestYorkshire are £2 same in Manchester.

I noticed that as we passed. Maybe we could fit it in after a trip to Widdop?

Aah yes, a classic walk we used to do quite a bit many years ago by train as you suggest. Pint(s) of Landlord in Haworth, bus back, a good day out

This was one of my first proper outdoor adventures! Aged around 9-10, an organised half term activity when I was at junior school in Tod. A bunch of us walked Hebden to  Haworth, up Hardcastle Crags to Blake Dean then over the moor, overnight at the YHA, then I remember a walk the following day but it's a bit hazy (and due to any Timmy Taylor's, we were a bit young for that even in the 70s)
