Thinking of Beinn an Dothaidh from Achallader farm via the coire and back on the north-west shoulder of the coire. Looks OK on OS 1:25K.

Anything I should be extra wary of on the route, especially that shoulder (I'm 80% sure I've been up that coire before!)? Expecting good visibility and freezing conditions this weekend.

I always hate that walk in, if the ground isn't frozen hard then its a real bog trot - once up in the corrie / on the shoulder its fine, just the approach if its boggy.

Hoping it will be frozen.

Thanks. Looking forward to it. Now, do I endure a cold overnight camp for an early start or stay home but get up at an ungodly hour. Would be nice to have some height for the dawn.

The NW shoulder is pretty steep and I always go the wrong way down it after climbing!

We followed the newish hydro track recently and the continuation on that side of the burn seemed to be a lot less boggy (no use for getting into the coire to climb)

It's great as a way of getting up.
