Can anyone advise whether the railway crossing at Dalnaspidal is passable/accessible for walkers.  I would like to walk from the A9 to Loch Rannoch (getting dropped at the A9 for an end-to-end walk).  I'm aware of the situation at the Dalwhinnie/Ben Alder crossing (https://scotways.com/dalwhinnie/), but just checking about Dalnaspidal.  Not local to the area, so hoping for some local knowledge or some recent experience. TIA

Fairly certain you will have no issues as a walker. Last time I crossed (~3yrs) there's a car park at the gate, and an estate information board. There's two Corbetts accessed from there so there will be frequent walkers using it, also a hydro scheme, plus the residents of the lodge. Just go through the unlocked gates either side of the railway. Remember to visit Duinish bothy on the way, and enjoy your walk.

Yes there is no problem with this

Thanks both for the feedback, and thanks for the tip about Duinish.  Will report back if/when etc.

Had a great walk.

The railway crossing at Dalnaspidal is absolutely fine, in fact you almost think it was designed for walkers there was so much information and guidance. And a sign from Scotways too! Very close to cycle route 7 which might be a help. Fantastic walk to Loch Rannoch, in about 4 hours, about 13 miles. Saw several groups of cyclists but no other walkers. First part of route is lochside track, then grassy/boggy, then vehicle track again. And pleasant stop at Dunish bothy (thanks for the tip to Jack Frost about the Duinish bothy)
