Anyone using the Cairn app whilst out and about in the hills..

Any good/bad points..

Never heard of it, but like all apps is reliant on having mobile coverage to alert anyone should the worst happen.

May as well use the tracking function on WhatsApp if you want people to follow your position if there's a mobile signal, or use the Garmin app if you have a Garmin watch, or Strava Beacon, or a host of other apps. All reliant on a mobile phone signal though.

Just looked into this Cairn App, don’t know what they’ve used to base estimated route times on but they seem well off unless it’s standard to have rocket propulsion built into your boots.
