Some great footage of the Brecon Beacons on the beeb.

Being my closest area of any significant altitude, Oh how I'd love to be there, but of course if allowed it would be rampant with every Chris Bonnington wannabe.

Nice to look at though, deserted!

In reply to Derry:

Yeah, watched that earlier with mixed feelings.

Have seen the snowy hills - from a distance - from the Garth and the ridge the other side of the A470. It's really frustrating that we've got the best snow here for several years and no way of getting to it

In reply to Derry:

Conditions in the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons have been fantastic over the past couple of weeks, perfect winter walking and some great winter biking too. I've been out on my own and with my family 3 or 4 times but always from home. However on Sunday, up at the Cat's Back (Black Hill) there were a lot of cars in the car parks and parked on the side of road. One family I spoke to had driven from Monmouth which is not really local and I would guess there were plenty of people who'd travelled a fair way.
