Off for a few days bimble from Dalwhinnie to Rannoch Station on Saturday, taking in some hills in between - does anybody have any idea of current snow conditions? Just cosmetic or worth packing pointy things?

There's been a sprinkling of snow over the last couple of days but I don't think it will last long. There's some old snow patches around but you can walk around them.

Did two of the Drumochter munros today, snow is soft and fluffy and spikey things wouldn't have been any use. Snow level is about 800m mark.

Views were stunning! Have a great trip.

Possible exception: the last part of the ascent from Carn Dearg to the plateau of Geal Charn (1132m) is often on steep old snow at this time of year.
