Where's everyone buying their climbing gear lately? Good prices, good service?

We normally use V12, fair prices and excellent advice.

I got some ropes last year from Dicks in Bristol. A good discount if you order enough.

And another thumbs up for V12 in Llanberis, popped in over the Christmas break and very pleased with the service there. Very knowledgable staff I thought.

Outside in the Peak.  Needlesports in the Lakes.

Always excellent service and prices are not that different from discount retailers (and actually sometimes cheaper).

Support the independents.

Another shout out to dicks especially for rope. Other than that epictv has amazing prices, and even decathlon for things like a grigri where you can't beat it's price.

Bought online from Joe Browns/Climbers Shop in the pre-Christmas sale. Order came one karabiner short, but another was sent out no problem. Good service!

Another vote for Banana Fingers, always seem to have what I want in stock.

I know Needlesports are an independent and very good customer service online and in shop. What other small, independent shops offer an online outlet and OK prices (doesn't have to be the cheapest)?

How about Joe Brown's/Climbers Shop? Rock and Run?

Any others?

Outside in Hathersage. Support those local shops, use ‘em or lose ‘em ¯_(ツ)_/¯

My local shop is a Mountain Warehouse. If you go in there with your eyes open there are worse places to selectively spend your money.

I've heard their cheap walking shoes are excellent.

Especially the built in air conditioning to keep your feet cool.  I'd have thought they would charge a premium for such features.

Really big fan of Urbanrock!

Been using those guys for a while now, really good range of gear and decent prices.

Have had a few email exchanges with the guys there as well, super helpful and down to earth.

Wherever is cheapest, I'm a student.

Unless it's specialist gear which I need advice on/fitting then I'll go to a specialised store where people know their stuff.

Run of the mill stuff, GO Outdoors or Decathlon, because they are somewhere I can get to easily.  When I needed more specialist help for rock shoes I went to V12. I got walking boots and ski wear in Anything Technical in Kendal.
