Going to Sardinia from Gatwick, with easy jet.
Problem is I have 2 ultralong Beta sticks so 113cm long. what solutions have you guys found for getting these on planes hassle free?

Get yourselfa 115cm long kitbag, & put them in it. Problem solved. Of course, if you're only taking a small cabin bag, problem solving is more difficult.....

Take a bulldog clip and a few cable ties in your pocket. Buy a bamboo cane, washing pole or decorators pole on arrival. 

Or dare I say it, use a stick?

Used to use sticks all the time.. but  do love my beta sticks

Much like bagpipes and footballs are outside toys, long clipsticks are car toys. 

Not sure cable ties in your pocket will get past security.  

Does it not pack down from 115cm?

If you haven't got a hold bag it'll fit in, they will ask you to take it to "outsize baggage". It'll be a separate pick up point at the other end, but they're usually not far away and it's usually no bother.

This is where skis etc go.

Edit 2: a more novel solution: strap it up your leg/body and walk with a limp?

As above, North Face or TNF kit bag in hold luggage. The ultra long stick fits in a 70 litre bag diagonally. Take a compact as well and it covers all eventualities.

Carefully drill* the rivet out and replace it with a bolt/screw of the same size and wing nut. Viola!

Shorter and less easily damaged.

No it's the ultra long, 113cm  is shortened 

Tape your clipsticks together, wear a pair of dark glasses and pretend you're blind.
