Hi folks,

Looking for a massage gun for a chronic hamstring issue ( behind knee, cycling related)

There are a lot of options on the market from £50 to £500.

Would be great to hear any good reviews and experiences.

Thanks

JJ

I've just bought a Wahl one, cheap and cheerful but gets decent reviews. I thought it was worth a shot, although as they say, 'buy cheap, buy twice'.  I'll try and remember to give a review here after I've used it a bit but I know that doesn't help you much at the moment.

Interesting reviews of some of the options here:

There are several Wahl models, but the one they recommended here is what I went for.

Does it have much power?

Certainly looks capable of increasing tendon blood flow.  Might give it a punt🤔

I haven't got it yet, but it's a corded one, so hopefully power shouldn't be an issue. They do make a cordless one for another twenty quid or so, but I thought that might be one of the areas where a budget machine had limitations. I aim to use it on an upper back muscle problem.

Totally agree. Cordless is not needed.

Looks interesting. What have you used this for and how often do you use it?

This looks like something that would either benefit a lot of people, or another purchase to live in the back of the cupboard!

I once found a very old one (from the 30s? 50s?) in the family attic. Afraid a bit to try it out - might be a rather jolting experience at 230V!

Muscle knots from biking, shoulder injury, stiff neck etc. Wife has used it on IT band.

Friend visited from France last week, she used it on her legs, then left with it as it was so effective.  Had to buy another one!

Ha, thanks!

Sounds like it would be perfect for me as I'm a bag of knots...
