Anyone got one or got experience of one?
My old medium sized pad is knackered. I was originally assuming I'd need a medium to replace it but at some point I might also need a smaller pad for packing into overfull boots on holidays with child clutter. The 2-mini-pad idea feels like it might help subvert this by being more packable, and obviously being able to use it as a long pad for traverses is an interesting design feature and being able to separate it for more flexibility to pack out holes on rocky landings feels useful too.
But I am in two minds.
- I can see a future in which it's flexible to pack, flexible to use and all round an excellent idea,
- but I can also see a future where you realise with all the joins that it's one big hollow spot, that the velcro holding it all together gets knackered and it feels less sound very quickly, and generally that it ends up feeling more like a gimmick than an innovation......
Would welcome any first hand experience!
Thanks,
Andy
