Hey folks,

Looking for good spreadsheets and I'm sure there are a lot of them out there!

I want to start tracking my gear. Does anyone want to share their nice excel spreadsheet or template for tracking the weight of your equipment? I'd prefer an excel sheet as I don't want to possibly lose all my data.

Note: I think this would be the correct forum for this, but if I'm wrong I would be happy change it

You need a bit that calculates your centre of gravity too

Have a look at LighterPack - https://lighterpack.com/welcome . Seems to be what you're after and has a good interface.

Weigh my rack might have what you need?

Honestly, would you contemplate this if we weren't in lockdown?

+1 for Lighterpack, Weighmyrack is very detailed for climbing gear but I find the interface a bit cluttered. I use Weighmyrack just for protection and Lighterpack for the rest of my gear. I prefer Lighterpack as you can easily set up different loadouts depending on the trip (e.g. summer alpine, winter trekking etc). I also use it as a ticklist before any trip to make sure I have not forgotten any gear. Here's one from a trip on Elbrus: https://lighterpack.com/r/8qtr7l

If you look at UL hikers you will know they are obsessed with their spreadsheets and gear in general, which all seems kind of silly when you are lugging a 3kg rope and 5kg of rack but I think it is useful to learn from their mentality.

My aerodynamics are struggling since lockdown too.
