Has anyone had any luck with reshaping or resizing boiled wool mitts, like Dachstein tyres?

I bought a pair of Hestra wool mitts for an upcoming expedition but have found that they're a bit long and narrow for my hand shape.  Would be nice if I could shrink the finger part while also making the wrist section wider (less tight... difficult to put on).

Thought maybe to try soaking them in warm (or hot?) water and then wearing them until they dry.  Possible success or potential to make things worse?

Perhaps ask Hestra?

I have a pair of Dachstein mitts from the 80s. Still going strong. Washed once since purchase; they shrank. I did as you propose, re-soaked them in warm water (and lanolin shampoo) and stretched them, drying over a form. Seems to have worked.

I 'spose selective shrinking could work if you're wetting the part that needs adjusting.

Good luck.
