Does anyone have experience with these ice clippers?

Do they work as well (stability/security/ease of use) on a harness with no ice clipper slots compared to the standard Caritool in a harness with ice clipper slots?

I have one of those, but what looks like an older version, which had a wire on the back instead of that orange strap. Pic here https://www.summittosea.co.uk/climbing-mountaineering/climbing-equipment/pe...

I've found it to work just as well as normal ones tbh, for some reason lost in the mists of time I have one even though my harness has the clipper slots so I get a direct comparison when I go ice climbing. If not wearing very much the wire is a bit uncomfy, but when ice climbing I'm normally wearing enough that's not a problem.

One pro is that it's really big in comparison with the normal caritools I have, so holds loads of screws.

No idea how the orange strap version compares, sorry.

Yeah I've got two of the new evos, work perfectly well and are much more stable than I was expecting them to be. You can really cinch the cord down tight and they'll go nowhere.

Have a one to optionally add to a harness that has no gear loops (didn't have loops as loops can get snagged on things when wriggling between rocks etc).

Got fed up with the caritool and prefer an HMS krab through the waist belt instead, but then again I used it to clip handtools or small powertools rather than ice screws. The large sized caritool is about the same price as many HMS krabs and you can use krabs for other things
