Not sure whether I'm looking to bitch/moan/warn/advise/ask if others thought the same, but had a few 8mm Contact slings in use over an alpine trip for the last 2 weeks as extenders....

...they have all gone very very fluffy very compared to other dyneema slings I've ever had (Some many years old). Sure they aren't compromised yet, but really looks like they won't last that long. Not sure if its the drop from 11 to 8mm which has caused it, but I won't be buying any more! Back to DMM for me!

In reply to FreeloaderJoe:

I bought some of these last year and noticed that, compared to the original contact slings I bought (and loved), they were of a much looser weave. The threads a tendency to catch on small protrusions and can pull the threads out (this happened to one of them on first use and I had to bin it)  I compared them and noted that my original ones were made in Germany and the new ones were made in China.

Contact slings were definitely the best thin slings available. Not sure that is still true.
