I bought some quickdraws off facebook (not getting into that discussion), seller all seemed genuine, they arrived, all the slings look fine, have all the markings and ratings I would expect, but the Krabs only have CE mark, no UIAA markings etc. They are 'Lucky II' model, patented in Spain, they have all loading figures as I would expect.

Never heard of Lucky equipment before, any thoughts?

I've never heard of them either, but here's a post from 2002 that apparently refers to them:

Its possible they are no longer in business, hence the lack of more recent references.

Owned by Edelrid which is part of the Vaude group.

So seem valid, would anyone not use them?

The krabs are quite old, approx 10yrs minimum? They would only have a UIAA mark if they held a safety label at the time. There we incorporated into Edelrid I think (ah yes, Jim has confirmed that).

CE0123 means they are tested by TUV in Munich, Germany, so you could always ask them if you are really worried?

Thanks, I'm not particularly worried, just wondering.

I have some. Bought abroad somewhere, understood they were vaude. Always thought it was a brand name that wouldn't work in the UK.

UIAA rating is the gold standard, I would probably not use. Maybe check if the company / item is listed by UIAA.

Rubbish, there's no difference.

I bought some of these in El Chorro (I think) 15 odd years ago.

Still using them.  No issues.

I've got some, from maybe 18 years ago, at this stage they are my "leaver biners" but perfectly fine. The tapes/slings that came with them were binned long ago and one got worn down desert climbing but other than that., all good
