It will depend exactly what you want them for but as emergency waterproofs I find these to be as good as lightweight waterproof trousers 8x or more the price.
It all depends on your definition of featherweight and what other characteristics they need but I'm very happy with my Rab Firewall trousers. They weigh about 300g with laminated three-quarter zips (with three pullers) and they are tough enough for the occasional rock scramble while still being light enough to not be a nuisance in my pack.
I'm looking at the lightest ones possible, certainly below 200g I think. Weight and windproofness are more important than the waterproofness. I'm mainly going to use them as a lightweight windproof layer for paragliding when I need to reduce the weight of what I carry. I guess the really featherlite ones may not last that long which would put me off buying them. I'm not really a runner but would be interested in any feedback on the lightweight running waterproofs.
