A kid in the wall yesterday had some La Sportiva Gripit climbing shoes. They look like such a good shape! I get that they might not suit for technical routes, but for all day comfies they would really suit those of us with hobbit feet!

Anyone know if there is something similar for adults?

Apart from extremely hairy feet, what do you mean by "hobbit feet"

Wide and square!

I imagine they would climb very similarly to something like vibram 5 fingers?

Somewhere in the depths of the Scarpa website, there’s a chart with foot shapes and climbing shoe last types.

From my recollection the Veloce is wide and quite square fitting.  It’s the only model I remember because I was looking at them and decided on the basis of the diagram they would likely not be suitable as I have fairly narrow feet.

The closest you'll get is something like the Lowa Parrot (lace or velcro). It's square enough that my mate with square feet plus huge bunions can wear them comfortably for 25 pitches. They're also not absolutely crap esp. indoor or on sandstone/granite due to being fairly soft. Could be worth a punt. Street size or 0.5 down.

Scarpa Veloce are round & wide at the front, soft & generally pretty comfy
