How do I clean a mouldy rucksack?

Hi,

I've got a 45 litre podsack that's not had much use that's unfortunately a bit discoloured with grey/green mould from being stored in a damp cellar.  Any ideas on how to clean it?  It's a bit big for a domestic washing machine and 'tech wash'.

Thanks,

David

I used soapy water and a hose down outside followed by a standard anti bacterial kitchen surface cleaner just to kill anything else off.

In reply to SuperstarDJ: You can't get any frame out?  Washing machine is where I'd start at that size of bag (and have)

Fairly similar to me. Some eco washing up liquid and left the rucksacks on the washing line for a week on the hunch that uv might kill the mould. Seems to have worked but I haven’t been allowed to bring the worst affected sack into the house. Looking forward to hearing if there are better ways of doing it.

In a bath? Tech wash and rinse off. Repeat if necessary

I always techwash in the bath as previous experience with using washing machines has shown me that it's virtually impossible to clean other detergents out of their systems.

That's what I was thinking... surely most/all frames are removeable?
