Hello all.

Can anyone confirm if a rear bale and lever can be fitted to a pair of "new-classic" Grivel Air Tech Lights?

Thanks.

So long as they have the holes in the points to accept the bail wire then yes. I guess you will need to drill out the rivets holding the plastic heel bail on tho.

In more detail:

Is the rear bale crimped in place once assembled by Grivel and is the rear section of all air tech crampons identical during manufacture and then assembled with the varying attachments offered?

If anyone has a set of new matics and could confirm that the rear bale can be removed that would be great.

Thanks again.

No, some are light alloy (Air-Tech light) and some are Chromolly  Steel (Air-Tech).

That said the shape and design appear the same and the Air-Tech newmatic

rear heel bail can be removed, adjusted and replaced if required with the heel clip type

But you would have to drill/cut the plastic bail off the "New-classic" Grivel Air Tech Light to do this.
