Looks like llanberis shoe resoles might be out of action for a while.

Anyone had a good experience elsewhere? Do TCA still do resoles through boldrini?

In reply to GraMc:

I get mine done at sports-resole (Boldrini) because they do a great job in their own shoes.  I can't comment on their skills with other models, but they do seem to cover all bases in terms of rubber and the service is good.  My Tigers come back as new.

Hardly anymore than posting in the uk. I've been struggling to get hold of him though and last I heard it was a 10 week wait for a resole.

I had a pair done by either Cheshire or Lancashire repairs in the past (can't remember which ) and didn't really rate them as they ruined the camber on sole

I can also recommend George at http://www.shoedoc.eu/rock%20climbing.htm

Turnaround is a bit longer than normal, but I've already had 3 pairs returned since he started back after the Greek lockdown.

Cost out is about £9 for two pairs (I rarely send fewer than 2 at a time) and return is included in the cost.

It's not so much the cost, but the quality of repair I use them for. The only place in the UK I have found as good is Llanberis resoles. However, Tarquin, the owner, tends to go away for extended trips (can't blame him) and it's not always possible to rely on a quick turnaround.

Hope that helps.

I had a pair of 5.10s done there some years back, had them soled a little early to get the best possible job. The result was dire, couldnt believe what they had done to them.

I might be being a bit dim, but I can't see email address contact listed on his website? How do you get in touch with him? / How does the process work?

Owner is; George Viore Vlahandreas.

Shipping Address;

I normally post the shoes for repair with a note saying what I want done. Then send an email with a copy of the note.

George will respond with a cost once the work is done. The shoe(s) will be posted once payment has been made.

Cheshire have always been good for me, and reasonably quick.

George wasn't doing any shoe repairs for 6 months last time I looked and no email replies either.
