Making a loop of cordelette ... is a triple fisherman's in any way better than a double? I use double fishermans for prussiks generally. However, the cordelette is going to be used for hauling on a big wall so will have some higher forces involved. Is double still fine or should i use a triple or does it not make a difference?

thanks

In reply to Kemics:

Double or triple fishermans,  depends on what material your cord is made from.

They reccomend a triple for Aramid if IIRC correctly.
Maybe have a hunt on the Edelrid website or google knotting Aramid or Kevlar

It needs to a triple for Dynaema/ Spectra otherwise a Double for normal cord.

Ha ha.  Seems unlikely you'll earn that badge while the Lemming has wifi.

It's recommended as a bit more secure than a double with very slippery cord, dyneema and the like.  If you're not making your cordlette out of that stuff I doubt it'd make any difference really.

cool, thanks for clarifying. Yeah it's just regular ole cord nothing fancy so I've gone for a double. Thanks

If you are talking solid bolts in the Valley, don't haul off the powerpoint of a cordelette, it will be too low. Haul off a bolt.

We'll be space haul so wont make too much difference?

In reply to Kemics:

I guess it depends on if the leader plans to haul while awaiting the second

In reply to David Coley:

That's our normal drill. Usually the bag is the docked before the second arrives

In reply to Kemics:

Ah. I was thinking you were space hauling with both members of the team, and hence the leader would be doing some of the hauling by him/herself. Looks like you have pleasantly light bags!
