Down or Primaloft slippers for tent/indoors/sleeping bag?

I was going to order some Nordisk down slippers but the reviews I read were very mixed (ie wore out in 3 months wearing indoors on wooden floor) so held off. I get cold feet in tents and cold rooms like my current bedroom and in the sleeping bag... So I thought I'd treat myself to something to wear indoors generally. I see Montane do slippers that seem to get good reviews. Rab and others do them too. What do people recommend? And would they be ok to wear inside my sleeping bag?

I have a pair of https://www.elementerre.fr/produit/banff/ which are lovely and warm and washable. Not quite sure of the filling but something similar to primaloft, I've had them for maybe 5 years now & they are showing no signs of wear so far. But as I use them as slippers, often in huts etc often with floors which are not that clean  I'd think twice about wearing them in my sleeping bag.

Have you ever considered some sort of wood stove for inside your tent?

I have owned Montane slippers, very warm and toasty. The firm soles are fine for walking about the house but I wouldn't wear them inside my sleeping bag. For inside the bag I would use the "down sock" type at the expense of longevity.

I use the Nordisk down slippers for winter camping and mountain huts when we go abroad and I've still got my first pair going strong after 3 years. I wouldn't use them round the house so I use a cheap Primark pair that do the job just fine and don't wear out.

Hut/tent slippers will wear out very quickly if you use them in the house all the time. I've got Montane bootees and they're nice for hut/tent action. Get someproper wooly slippers for the house.

I really rate the Nordisks, ace in alpine hut, ace in sleeping bag, ace in a tent.

They're not designed for regular indoor use so I don't think the review offers fair criticism: standard slippers have a leather or rubber sole for the hard knocks of regular in house use.

For tents and sleeping bag use, Nordisks rock!

For regular home use, I'd buy a different product.

Comparing Nordisks with slippers designed for regular home use is comparing oranges with Wednesdays.

Is that some new UKC meme? Even if I participated in the "candle in tent" thread as much as everybody, let's not turn UKC into Reddit, please

To the OP, I love my down slippers (mine don't have any rubber sole, just 10-20D nylon all around). I don't miss rubber sole that much, since I use them mostly just inside the sleeping bag and any rubber would make my feet more sweaty inside, wetting the down. If it's flat and freezing cold enough, they are usually ok even for a quick run out of tent for a midnight pee on any frozen snow.

But I wouldn't be surprised if they won't last much used at home daily. Perhaps some cheaper fleece or wool ones would be better for that? Low denier nylon just ain't the best for house use, and it would be a pity to trash the down indoors.

These from OR are good, although only used in sub zero temperatures, socialising (under government guidance) over the winter.

Ido have some montane thick soled ones at home - very comfy - but in a winter tent is this not the role of your spare socks?

I have a pair of 15yo MEC down booties. They are super snuggly, very comfy, so warm and absolutely stink! I also very rarely wear them. Why?

For a house slipper, I use a normal slipper. I did try to use the down booties when I got them but they are far too warm.

For camping, if it's cold enough to need a down booty I'm in my sleeping bag*!

*I'm a softy who very rarely camps in winter anymore.....

Well, I guess it's sitting at my desk in a room with cold feet at home which is the main issue. So, yes I should try the dry socks in the sleeping bag. Given that; rubber or hypalon type soles like the Montane ones have might be ok.

By the way, posting to this forum in Safari on a Mac is very strange with odd spacing between lines and crosses appearing from nowhere..
