A bit off the wall this one.....

Anybody got any advice / guidance etc on sewing patterns for some waterproof salopettes with full-length zips?

The best I have found so far is 'draw around some pyjama bottoms' but I was hoping to end up with something a bit more sophisticated.  Am beginning to realise why they are so expensive in the shops!

Pennine Outdoor do patterns that could be adapted. something like this: https://www.pennineoutdoor.co.uk/pattern-3389%20?search=patterns&page=2

I've made two pairs of salopettes, one with full length zips, the other without. Both were based on a pattern from either Pennine outdoor or PointNorth (https://www.profabrics.co.uk/ ) - was several years ago & can't remember which. No longer have the pattern after a couple of house moves.

Thank-you Doug and Phizz4 but unfortunately neither of these companies have anything suitable.  I had already looked.  I am pleased though that I am not the only person out there who has had a stab at this.

the patterns are decent, i bought the rainshed alpine backpack pattern from extremtextil and came in around a week and was a very detailed patter with different sizings

first thing id say is make a prototype first out of cheap meterial, the 2nd and 3rd attempts are always better and no point wasting expensive material till you have it down

Would strongly recomend this, I used an old sheet from a charity shop for my first attemp

Try a dressmaking shop for a pattern for dungarees and adapt. Or, find a pair of salopettes and measure them and make your own pattern. I've done this a couple of times when making caving oversuits.

A long time ago I did my MIC training with a guy who made his own fleece salopettes (maybe he's on here). There is a risk that if you get it wrong you look like a cross between a Hale & Pace sketch and the teletubbies..

That's just what I am worried about!
